Position Title: Cognos BI Business Consultant. Version 8.4 to 10

Position Summary:

Cortell Australia Pty Ltd are seeking an experienced Cognos BI Business Consultant to join our expanding BI practice. The BI Consultant will be responsible for ensuring quality service delivery in all billable consulting engagements they are required to work on:  supporting the design and implementation of solutions which integrate with the broader business service offerings within the Cognos range of products serviced by Cortell Australia Pty Ltd.

The Business Consultant will work with autonomy and flexibility, while representing Cortell and providing consulting services into our clients, as well as maintaining and expanding the current client relationships.  You will ideally have:

• Experience working within a business driven solution environment.
• Knowledge and understanding of cultural and IT business environments.
• Skills in developing valued relationships with clients.
• Understanding and experience that BI encompasses the full spectrum of layers to Business Insight presentation.
• Solution architect experience.
• Excellent documentation and proposal writing skills.
• Ability to work within a delivery team and project managers in leading and ensuring successful project completing with technical and business staff.
• Extensive knowledge of Cognos analytical software, specifically Cognos BI 8.4 and ideally Cognos BI 10.
• Business Analysis experience – including business case development.
• Strong Business Process understanding and a proven methodology.
• Data Modelling, specifically Framework Manager and Metrics Manager.
• Report authoring using Report Studio.
• Analytical Experience (statistical based).
• Dashboard creation using Business Insight 10.
• Knowledge of data warehouse concepts and methodologies.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain professional services standards.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients.
• Provide delivery management to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ensure the clients maximise and take advantage of Cortell's best practices.
• Develop, implement, and manage enterprise project engagements.
• When required, participate in the sales cycle to gather requirements, formulate delivery approach and develop proposals and Statement Of Works.
• Ensure the project is delivered within the budget outlined in the SOW.
• Successfully and professionally manage client expectations and apply change control procedures when required.
• Utilise project management experience and knowledge when required, adapting to unique client environments, through your diverse industry experience.
• Ad hoc training delivery.
